Welcome to Free Fall Stage!
(formerly THE Actors’ Workshop)
“Community Theatre with a Spirit of Excellence”
Birthed in the fall of 2002 — but gestating for 20 years before – Free Fall Stage is a full-time community theatre company producing plays in a variety of genres and subjects for patrons of all ages. At anytime during the year we have some kind of a production that will appeal to any member of the family and community. We delight in bringing classic novels to the stage with original adaptations, and enjoy bring as-yet-not produced, original works or little known plays, as well as a few well-loved classics!
To wit, we have remained in our rented facility (formally housed by Victory Life Church), who have been generous enough to provide very low rent, so that we can do the shows we want to do without the concern of whether they are well known or not, and they give us fairly-free reign to design beautiful sets so it feels like our own space. So, though we had indented to move into our own space before now, we are content to stay in this location for the foreseeable future – unless, of course a generous benefactor would like to buy/give us our own proprietary space! (We are looking for more rehearsal space too, so if you can help in that area, we would be exceedingly grateful!)
Free Fall Stage is a non-profit, 501c3 company, specializing in teaching the craft of theatre to budding (or returning) thespians from 6-60, and we are SO grateful to all of our volunteer staff! From the craftsmanship of Wayne Sellers’ props and set pieces, to the sturdy walls, doors and floors built by our master carpenter, John Bowers, to the exquisite set artistry of Hannah Munsey, as well as our incredibly supportive board of directors, the many talented actors, directors, graphic artists and technicians, and mostly to our administrator, publicist and house manager, Emma Eldridge, who is the motor that keeps us running!

We are always on the look-out for thespians and patrons of the theatrical arts who have a spirit of excellence toward the craft to come work alongside us and help us in our vision to bring quality theatre for the entire family.
Free Fall Stage is a member of the League of Sacramento Theatres (seeaplay.com) as well as the Sacramento Regional Theatre Alliance (sarta.com) and are the proud nominees of numerous Elly Nominations - most for our students’ performances!
