Scripts must include a cover page that includes the author’s name, contact information, and title of script.
The script itself must adhere to formatting rules (see details here) and have a running head of the script title and page numbers. The author’s name must not appear anywhere on the script pages.
The play must have an estimated a minimum run-time of 10 minutes to a maximum of 15 minutes.
The action of the play should have only one setting.
Festival participants (playwright finalists – i.e. those whose scripts are chosen to perform at the Festival in September) will be chosen based on script creativity, characterization, and staging potential.
Scripts will be blindly chosen by a panel.
The chosen scripts/playwright finalists will be announced the beginning of June.
Each playwright finalist will have their script staged by a local director for performance at the festival.
